About St Giles
The clinic started operating in June 1996 under the ownership of St Giles Healthcare (Private) Limited, a wholly indigenous entity registered in terms of Zimbabwe Companies Act (Chapter 190) in 1995. At inception specialist doctors owned 65% shareholding while the then Southampton Insurance Company Limited owned 35%. However, over the years the doctors managed to secure 94% shareholding of the Company when the insurance Company decided to completely pull out of the healthcare business. In 2020, the shareholders agreed to restructure the shareholding of the company to accommodate new and active doctors by creating a new company called St Giles Healthcare (Private) limited.The clinic provides health care services with special focus on day care medical and surgical procedures. Business has been growing stronger since 1996 despite the economic turbulence that continued to be experienced in the country.

The clinic is a surgical facility servicing mainly day patients but offers overnight admissions to patients requiring longer monitoring periods on specific days of the week. It was built as a “one stop shopping centre” housing all supportive services.The day care medical and surgical facility includes 24 bedded wards for pre and postoperative care. There are three operating theatres that are fully equipped for day care procedures. The clinic boasts of state-of-the-art equipment in the theatres following adoption of a recapitalization program to keep in line with the fast-changing world of technology. Day Care procedures done in the theatres cut across the following disciplines:
*Gynaecology, * Orthopaedics * General Surgery, *Ear, Nose and Throat * Paediatric Surgery *Ophthalmic surgery *Dental Surgery * Urology *Oral and Maxillofacial surgery * Cardio Thoracic Surgery * Plastic surgery * Endoscopic surgery * Gastrointestinal Endoscopy services.All specialist doctors undergo an adjudication process before getting access to the clinic facilities. These doctors include specialist physicians who perform various procedures in the wards.

These doctors include specialist physicians who perform various procedures in the wards.The clinic houses other supportive services namely, Radiology, Laboratory, a retail pharmacy, and 13 consulting suites for specialist and family practitioner doctors.
SUPPLIERS
The company mainly deals with suppliers of surgical and medical consumables and equipment. Major suppliers include New Avakash, Mysticon, Shreesai, PCD, Mukos Marketing, BOC and Varichem (Pvt) Ltd just to mention a few. Generally, suppliers are on a 30-day credit arrangement

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Reception
After completion & verification of the admission sheet and data capturing by the admissions staff, a nursing staff member will take you through to the ward. Patients are admitted in the order of their Theater times and first preference is given to minors.
PATIENTS ON MEDICAL AID
The clinic accepts Medical Aids Societies registered both in Zimbabwe and Internationally where applicable. Your Medical Aid might have certain conditions related to your admission in the clinic, as specified in their rules and regulations. Kindly make sure that you are kept informed of these rules, especially with regards to your benefits or any levies, clinic stay, treatment or medication. Any amount not covered by Medical Aid will be billed for your account
VISITING HOURS
Visiting hours are from 0730hrs to 1900hrs .Patients may have a family member or friend remain with them in the ward throughout their stay but not to sleep over.
